We've been to Max downtown a few times lately... on the earlier side and able to get 2 bar seats. They were open at 430 on a Saturday so the hours might be wrong on here. Mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts are both really good. Tuna and crispy chicken wrap were good Fries not that great Chicken tenders, Caesar salad, were okay Bartenders have been nice but they are very busy so not too much small talk. Valet parking is very convenient.

Great for a date night dinner before a show at the Bushnell! We started with some cocktails and I absolutely loved the "Greetings From Jalisco" that had strawberry puree and guava. It was fruity and delicious! The menu is pretty expensive so we tried to stay in the under $30 option for our meals. I really enjoyed the burger but thought it was missing something. The hubs enjoyed his vodka rigatoni and we loved the jalapeno caramel bacon! Wish we had time to try the baked Alaska but service was slower than expected and we had a show to get to. All in all great meal and we'll definitely be back!

For lunch today, I went with Max Downtown (definitely a fancy place) I placed my order online and went to get it. It's in the same office building so why not. I walked in and the decor was stunning. Tons of different whiskeys there, office people just on their lunch break. I was greeted very quickly and picked up my order. I opened my lunch at my desk and INSTANTLY my mouth started watering. An amazing looking turkey club, house made chips, a container of pickles, and a roll. I'm gonna need a nap. The turkey club. This was a turkey club? Then it's the king of turkey clubs! Soft yet crisp toast, incredibly flavorful meat with fresh lettuce and tomato, and bacon cooked to perfection. A little bit of mayo and some Dijon mustard was added and complimented the sandwich as a whole. This was bliss. Every single bite was packed full of flavor, start to finish. The chips... I had low expectations but they proved me wrong. Super crisp, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely the right thing to pair this sandwich. Now, I love a good pickle. But these pickle chips may be the best ones I've ever had. Garlicky, sweet, tons of flavor, and absolutely refreshing. It's like a garlic dill and a gherkin decided to have kids. You get the best of both worlds with these, and my only gripe is that I want more! The roll was an added bonus. Flaky, soft interior, crusty exterior, with the perfect amount of butter to enjoy every bite. I get it, this place is amazing! I will definitely order this again!

First things first, the food is INCREDIBLE. Pricey, yes, but the food was absolutely spectacular. Notable items include the lobster perogies, homemade pastas, and the incredible desserts. My waitress, whose name I forgot, was charming and attentive. However, what could have been a perfect evening was marred by one issue that left me crying at the table. My daughter ordered the children's sirloin, and I decided to treat myself to a filet mignon, a treat I hadn't eaten in years. When the food finally arrived, i started cutting into my daughter's steak and noted it looked....well...filet tender. My filet looked flat. I was focused on cutting into my daughter's steak and she was loving it. I go to cut into my steak and found a slightly overcooked, flat, sirloin. This steak was not a filet, not even close. They must have accidentally switched my steak, so I called over the waitress who was SO apologetic. ..Cue the rude manager (floor manager? general manager? i don't know). He comes in and tells me i'm wrong, this is clearly a filet (its not) and every time I showed him he just condescendingly said "Hmm" while looking his nose down at me. I've almost never sent a dish back. I am so terrified of confrontation that I rarely speak up for myself. My mom, who does not have this problem, encouraged me to send the steak back so I could get my proper steak and this dude was RUDE. Straight up rude. And my tender, mid-divorce, heart couldn't take another man being rude to me, so right in the beautiful restaurant this man made me so upset I cried. I've NEVER had someone in a restaurant be this rude before. I'm not a meat specialist but i've been having fine dining/cooking long enough to know the difference between a filet and a sirloin. The steak was replaced, yes, and we had money taken off of the bill, great, but it was not enough to make up for how incredibly rude this man was to me. I won't be back. Which is a bummer because again, the food is incredible.

Returned for the Tomahawk Fridays special and it was awesome!!!!!! Steak was delicious, which of course was the most important part, but what a great value! Two BIG salads, two sides (which were amazingly delicious), the steak, and a dessert for $150. A perfect date night out with the lady and couldn't be more pleased. HIGHLY recommend!

Sat at the bar for happy hour, drinks and some food. The bartenders are really nice; not as focused on customers as they should be and more focused on the bar, the set up, and their phones. Eventually it got busy and they got busy. Drinks are really good as is the happy hour food. Burger is great even if small it was perfect. Cooked great. Must get the deep fried hot dog. So basic but so good. $1 oysters is no joke and while small (expected) they were a great deal and tasted great. A great and apparently popular spot in dt hartford.

So my boyfriend surprise me with a date here when we pulled up I was scared because he said I could wear whatever and on the website it says you cannot wear ripped jeans and we were both in ripped jeans lol nevertheless, they still were able to serve us and sat in the main dining area. The waitress was nice and kept it very professional. She wasn't personable. I do enjoy a more personable waitress, but nevertheless, still good service. It was pretty crowded but I enjoyed our dinner. We both got drinks and an entrée we didn't do any appetizers. My drink was smaller than I thought it would be but it was still very tasty and I got a salmon so you can't mess up salmon

Max's Downtown anyone reliable Max Group owned dining experience. It was a timely visit as we went to another steakhouse the weekend before and in comparison the other steakhouse ranked higher in our book from a food perspective. But there are many reasons to still enjoy Max's Downtown. - service - atmosphere - food options Overall it was great and j just love the atmosphere and every single person is always so kind. The French onion pierogi, baby gem Cesar, oysters and chicken were spot on! I want o explore their cocktail many a bit more next time.
